How Long?

We come across teenager Lottie and her mum years into the family dealing with anxiety, possible autism and difficulties in attending school (school refusal) The film explores the rituals, sacrifices, emotional conflicts, and societal and systematic pressures on the family during the course of one average day. With Lottie finally finding her voice, is today the day that will change everything?


Written and Directed by Louise Wildish, this deeply emotional film depicts one mothers love and relationship with her teenage autistic daughter who is unable to attend school. While trying to navigate the emotional complexities, appease the education system and adhere to societal pressures, she also understands that the best she can do for her daughter might not be the best thing for everyone and will actually be the hardest route of all.
